What is a good answer? And what is a "bad" answer, within the context of this forum? What are we looking for in an answer: what makes for a "good" answer?

I ask because, [sometimes there are answers (especially from new users) which don't follow the conventions of the forum](https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/4650/natural-family-planning-and-divorce-rates/4664#4664): and I'd like to be able to reply to these answers with a comment that includes a link to a FAQ, which describes what kind of answer is expected or requested.
